Hi, I’m Raya!

Born in Iraq, I am a mom of two wonderful young boys living in one of the greatest countries in the world - the UAE - that I have been fortunate enough to call my home for over 25 years and now my kids will be able to as well.

A biotechnologist by profession, I had been working in healthcare for over a decade when my first son was born. I thought I would have some idea of a how-to parent but his arrival changed my life as I knew it! I became engrossed in all things parenting and was determined to figure out the 'right' way to raise my children. Like all new mothers, it took time to realize that becoming a parent is a monumental life shift where there are no right or wrong ways, and this journey is not one easily conquered alone!

In every culture, the concept of “A Village” is an integral piece of the parenting puzzle.  However, life’s twists and turns mean many of us to end up missing our Village and support network when we need them the most. What I hope this podcast will provide is a sense of community that parents can reach out to during the wonderful, and at times terrifying, parenting journey.
